You can work in Canada for any employer with an open work permit, but only under certain restrictions.
An open work permit might be available to you if you:
- are a foreign student who completed their studies at a recognized educational institution and qualifies for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program.
- are a student who has applied for permanent residence in Canada because they are no longer able to pay for their education (destitute student).
- are a family member who is dependent on an applicant for permanent residence.
- are an international student or skilled worker's spouse or common-law partner; are a refugee, refugee claimant, protected person; or have a family member with a temporary resident permit.
